Lace is a non-custodial, Cardano-first wallet focused on everyday usability—backed by the team behind the Cardano blockchain.
What is Lace Wallet?
Lace is a browser extension wallet for Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. It lets you store, send, receive, and stake ADA and Cardano native assets, as well as connect to decentralized applications (dApps).
Unlike a custodial service, Lace gives you control of your private keys. Your recovery phrase is created locally and is yours to protect. The extension can also connect with compatible hardware wallets such as Ledger, adding an offline signing option for users who want it.
Its point of difference is a deliberate focus on user experience: clearer prompts for staking, transaction fees, and dApp connections, plus multi-account management for keeping different activities separate. Lace is Cardano-first today; check official release notes for current network support and roadmap updates.
A modern Cardano wallet should make the important decisions easier to understand—not invisible.

Security & privacy
Wallet security starts with the recovery phrase. When you create a wallet, Lace provides a recovery phrase (often 24 words). It is the master backup for your wallet: write it down offline, store it somewhere private, and never share it or enter it into a website claiming to offer support.
As a non-custodial wallet, Lace cannot recover your phrase or reverse transactions for you. Transactions are authorized on your device, while the extension communicates with the Cardano network. For stronger key isolation, consider pairing a hardware wallet and verifying transaction details on its screen.
Only download Lace from its official website or a browser’s official extension store. Check the publisher, reject unexpected recovery-phrase requests, and be cautious of sponsored search results and lookalike support accounts.
How to get started
Set aside a few minutes, use a trusted device, and complete the backup before adding funds.
- 01
Install from an official source
Open the official Lace site and follow its link to the Chrome Web Store or your browser’s official store. Confirm the publisher before adding the extension.
- 02
Create or restore a wallet
Choose to create a wallet or restore one you already control. Set a strong spending password and keep your device secure.
- 03
Back up your recovery phrase
Write the words down in the exact order and keep the backup offline in a safe place. Never photograph, email, or share it.
- 04
Verify, then add an account
Complete Lace’s backup check. Create additional accounts if you want to separate savings, daily activity, and NFTs.
- 05
Fund and explore carefully
Send a small test amount of ADA to your receive address first. Review the address and network before sending more.
- 06
Delegate if you choose
Compare stake pools and review the delegation details in Lace. Staking is non-custodial, but rewards and timing depend on protocol conditions.
Restoring an existing wallet? Check Lace’s current documentation for supported recovery phrase formats before entering an existing phrase.
Lace vs. other wallets
Wallets serve different ecosystems and preferences. This high-level comparison is a starting point—not a substitute for checking current product features.
Products change frequently. Verify supported networks, features, and compatibility with each wallet’s official documentation before deciding.
Control, without the clutter.
Lace brings together the essentials for a Cardano wallet—asset management, staking, dApp connections, and hardware wallet support—in an approachable extension. It can be a useful fit for ADA holders who value a guided interface and organized accounts.
The trade-off is worth keeping in mind: Lace is not a replacement for a wallet built around another ecosystem, and no interface removes the responsibility of self-custody. Confirm current support, protect your recovery phrase, and start with a small test transaction.
